VERSE 1: Nothing to see here, Nothing to hang your hat on. Nothing to say, dear, Why don't you move it along? Nothing exciting, nothing to find In all of these half-hearted lines of mine— Somebody help me; Somebody tell me I'm wrong. CHORUS: See, I've come to discover, even in time Never another comes to mind. Long have I wondered If what I wanted and needed could collide In you and I. VERSE 2: Maybe I'm selfish, Maybe I'm losing my head. I'm probably jealous, Worrying who's in your bed. It's nobody's fault here—well, probably mine— And if all my convictions pan out to be lies, Then what have I done here? And what am I choosing instead? CHORUS: Cause I've come to discover, even in time Never another comes to mind. Too long have I wondered If what I wanted and needed could collide In you and I.

about

A year after the release of her debut album Tactics, Alma released this live single on Christmas Eve of 2015. Featuring a delicate, intentional melody and Alma's characteristically candid lyrics, "You & I" mourns a lost love. Her soft vocal stylings invite listeners to lean in and listen carefully to the words, and her baritone ukulele keeps the story moving.
